Vamos para a famosa e mais importante Plaza Mayor da Espanha - eu tinha uma lembranca maravilhosa dela - e claro nao me decepcionou - continua linda.

Plaza Mayor - the square was built in 1617 and was completed two years later. It is in the Baroque style.

The plaza is surrendered with shops and restaurants.

Every day there are a lot of performance in the Plaza.

It is a big square. I didn't take a good photo to show the size.

Do lado da Plaza Mayor encontramos este maravilhoso mercado de San Miguel com muitos quitudes incluindo bolinho de bacalhau. E ponto de encontro dos madrilenos que vao beber vinho e comer tapas e conversar claro.

The Mercado de San Miguel was constructed in the early 20th century and is one of the most beautiful markets in Madrid. It is used by the locals as a place to relax and socialize.

O imperdivel Reina Sofia Museu onde podemos apreciar o fantastico "Guernica" de Picasso e "El Gran Masturbador"by Salvador Dali.

Para quem ainda nao viu aqui vai uma foto - por incrivel que pareca voce pode fotografar.

The great attractions of the Reina Sofia Museum is "Guernica" , the heartrending vision portrayed by Pablo Picasso in 1937 of the horror, death and destruction of the Guernica bombardment.

Also great attration is "El Grand Masturbador" by Salvador Dali.

 Next to the Museum is Madrid's first railway station built in 1851. The Puerta de Atocha Station was where we  took the express train (300 km per/h) to  go  to  Barcelona.

A bonita e animada Plaza Santa Ana onde nosso hotel ficava. Pra mim o melhor lugar para ficar em madrid - tudo acontece ao redor.

Our hotel is next to the Plaza Santa Ana. The square ad adjacent streets contain a host of restaurants, bars and cafes that make this a particularly lively area. It is a popular district for Madrilenians and visitors alike to dine and enjoy a drink.

Nao era minha intencao colocar aqui as fotos de monumentos ou icones que todos conhecem mais o Peter quer que eu coloque para a familia e amigos dele.
Vamos a eles.

Fountain of Cibeles - symbol  of Madrid.
This is one of the most beautiful place in Madrid for its unrivaled view of the avenues and promenades which meet here. There are splendid and important buildings flanking it.

 Puerta de Alcala - the most famous and representative of all the monuments in Madrid along with the Fountain of Cibeles. The monument was construccted in granite and white stone from Colmenar.

Tenho um livro de Madrid que tem 13 roteiros a pe - cada dia faziamos um. Achamos otimo.

Os dois palacios ficam dentro do Park do Retiro. Quando visitamos o Palacio de Verlazquez que tem uma exibicao moderna eles nos deram tickets para entrar de graca no Reina Sofia Museu a qualquer hora e dia. Nos tambem entramos de graca no Museu do Prado que tem entrada free todos os dias depois das 6pm. O Reina Sofia tem entrada free todos os dias depois das 7 da noite.

Outra coisa que gostamos muito foi o nome das ruas em azuleijos pintados com desenho do nome da rua ou do nome da pessoa. Eles tambem usam muito grafites nas portas - que nos chamou bastante atencao.

Tirei fotos de milhoes - exagerada...

Peter tirou esta foto porque ele tem um irmao que chama Leon. - Ele achou o maximo.

Madrid 1

Eu adorei ter voltado a Madrid e ter ficado 6 dias por la. Desta vez tive tempo de curtir a noite madrilenha e fazer como eles - ir de bar em bar experimentando os tapas e tomanda umas canas (como eles chamam o chopp) Peter tambem adorou Madrid - acho que e porque cheio de bar/boteco, coisa que nao existe na Australia.

Com voces algumas fachadas de bares em Madrid.

Peter: The Luncheonette/bar, tapas by the score they serve beers and wines and spirits, nothing to excess except the service excellent - coffee excellent - culture the Spanish have.

Many bars and restaurants have beautiful tiled facades.

Foi dificil o Peter se adaptar a cultura do tapas.

Os tapas sao diferentes e deliciosos. Tem varias opcoes pra mim que nao como carne.

Museu do Jamon - barato e excelente servico.
